Douglas Walker

Douglas Walker is an award winning Canadian sculptor based on Vancouver Island British Columbia. Working mainly with a variety of recycled objects he creates sculptures that can be described as whimsical and Goldberg-like. He is best known for turning discarded musical instruments such as tubas and trombones into water features.

By melding and blending common cast-off objects, he has proven himself to be an accomplished sculptor whose designs are easily recognizable. Works created by Douglas can be found throughout North America, the UK and Australia.

Your thoughts on the Arts
What the Arts mean in my life/To my company?
Art shaped my life. Blessed, with the heart of a boy, the hands of a man, a good shot of Dr. Seuss, I tamper, reshape and reform common things hoping to kindle a fire in the thoughts of passers by. Believe it or not this is my job.
