I’ve been drawing since I was a kid. After a Fine Arts stint at the University of Alberta, I worked as an illustrator for GDL, Edmonton. I later developed mythological and astrological art under the name “Astrovisuals,” while continuing to freelance illustrations for educational materials and children’s books.

It wasn’t until 2002 that I joined the Calgary FCA group and turned to acrylic painting. Streetscapes and old buildings became my favorite subjects, both on a visual and symbolic/spiritual level. As my commitment grew stronger, I relocated to a live/work studio in east Vancouver to focus on the wonderful urban landscape with its rich textures of things weathered and imprinted by time and human occupation.

Now ten years, some sojourns in Texas, a move to Courtenay, and many shows later, I’m continuing to explore new themes, go deeper into old ones, and take full joy in the pleasure of painting.
