Organizers are in the final countdown for the 4th annual Elevate Arts Festival and things are shaping up a very exciting event June 3-6 in Downtown Courtenay. This volunteer run DIY community arts festival is all about bringing together culture makers and culture lovers and having a big community party. And everyone is welcome to get involved!
Volunteer are still welcome with the majority of shifts on June 5th and 6th. Volunteers get to be part of creating an exciting and innovative community arts event, access special after hours shows and eat delicious food from our elevate hospitality hall. You can volunteer for 4 hours or immerse yourself for days :) Specific volunteer roles currently being filled are:
- Hospitality – delicious, healthy and local food and beverage service for our performers and volunteers
- Site – help build the site! Signage, tents, electricity, tables and chairs! Strong bodies, clever hands and trucks are helpful.
- Stages and Tech – help host a venue big or small with your charming personality or lend your technical skills to sound, projections or lighting
- Info/Check In Booth – public relations, meeting and greeting, roving info crew (costumes?), providing info to the public and visiting artists and volunteers
- Arts, Crafts and Signage – help out in the days leading up to the event or on the weekend, If you love glue, scissors, sparkles and spray paint this is for you! Decorate stages, help with kids crafts and more!
